Time Above the City

This watercolor captures Brisbane City Hall's clock tower from a dramatic low angle, emphasising the soaring height of one of Queensland's most recognisable heritage landmarks. A warm, near-monochromatic palette of sandstone golds and browns highlights its neo-classical detailing, from fluted Corinthian columns to dentil mouldings and layered cornices. At the crown, the verdigris copper dome adds a cool blue-green contrast, while two clock faces anchor the upward sweep. It is part of an ongoing series celebrating the craftsmanship of Australia's heritage buildings in a minimalist, light-driven style.
