The Corner Lamp

This watercolor focuses on an intimate architectural detail: a wrought-iron lantern mounted on weathered red brick beside a paned sash window. The painting leans into texture, from the uneven warmth of handmade brick to the soft patina of aged metal and a crisp dentil cornice against a pale sky, with a glimpse of eucalypt greenery behind.

Continuing my exploration of heritage architecture, the piece sets aside the full facade to give one overlooked feature room to breathe, inviting viewers to slow down and notice the craftsmanship we so often walk past, like an old lamp still quietly doing its job.
