Gentleman's Provisions

A row of heritage shopfronts stands beneath a soft morning sky in this watercolor and ink painting. A deep plum facade and a sunlit ochre facade, each crowned with an ornate parapet, rise beside a pale cream building. A corrugated iron verandah trimmed with iron lace shades the windows, where a sign reads "Gentleman's Provisions". A vintage motor car waits by the cobbled roadside as a well-dressed couple pauses in a doorway. Fine ink linework captures every detail. This is part of my ongoing work as UmairArts, painting Australian heritage buildings in a minimalist palette that lets the architecture tell its story.
